Members may be aware of the latest news of incidents affecting golf clubs and hospitality venues in Aberdeen and the re-imposed lockdown in Aberdeen.  Clubs in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are awaiting news as to whether they need to close their clubhouses and/or their courses. Update – Clubhouse Operations and Competitions

Please note that the following changes are being to the operational practices in the Clubhouse from Tuesday 21st July 2020:- Outside drinks area closes – no drinking outside clubhouse is allowed. Please do not try to purchase drinks in the clubhouse and take them outside.   Smoke room will be open from 11am for those wishing a drink whether lunching or not. Re-Opening of Clubhouse & Member Guests

Following the announcements from the First Minister on 9th July 2020 we are delighted to confirm that with effect from Wednesday 15th July 2020 the Clubhouse will re-open with the guidelines Clubhouse Only those playing golf may have lunch (this can be before or after play) At this time lunch is not available to members who are not playing golf. GOLF UPDATE

Following the recent announcements from the First Minister we can now confirm: – With effect from Saturday 11 July :- Foursomes and Fourballs are allowed on the course but names of all players must continue to be entered on the tee booking system. The booking system has been amended to allow for a fourth player and existing bookings can be amended or added to. Members are again reminded that pace of play has been excellent during the restrictions and this should not suffer with the introduction of fourballs. Opening of 15th Hole – Saturday 18th July

The Captain and Board have decided it would be appropriate to hold a modest golf event to mark not only the re-starting of golf after the lockdown, but also hopefully, the re-opening of the clubhouse and the opening of the re-designed 15th hole.  This will be held on Saturday 18th July. Reminder to Golfers

In advance of golf Travel to the course must be in line with Scottish Government Guidelines If you are in highest risk shielding category you may now play with up to one other household. All golf must be booked in advance. No play is allowed without a booking. Tee time on main course must be booked on the online system. Use of the practice ground or short course at any time must be indicated in advance to the office by email or phone (office hours only). Phase 2 – Relaxations

Following the announcement from the First Minister and the updated guidance from both the Government and Scottish Golf, the following changes are being made to the playing conditions at Luffness. From Wednesday 24 June (as previously advised) Tee times will start from 8am and run through to 7pm. From Saturday 20 June Three balls will be allowed throughout the day for 3 members or two members and a guest. Single and 2 ball play is still allowed.
