COMPETITIVE GOLF

Now that restrictions are being relaxed, the Board consider it is appropriate to re-start competitive golf and to try to play some of the main Club Competitions, Medals and Stablefords.

The revised fixture list is :-

Saturday 1 August Spring Meeting and Qualifying for Club Championship (see below)
Friday 7 to Sunday 9 August Club Championship Match play
Thursday 13 August Dieppe Raid Stableford (White Tees)
Sunday 30 August Medal (Blue Tees)
Saturday 5 September Summer Meeting
Wednesday 16 September Stableford (Blue / White Tees)
Saturday 3 October Autumn Meeting
Wednesday 7 October Stableford (White Tees) – Including Seniors’ Quaich

Further events like the Captains’ Weekend and Town v Country are more reliant on the Clubhouse and decisions as to whether these should be held and, if so, on what basis, will be taken in due course.

Scottish Golf have issued guidelines as to how competitions can be run including how scores can be returned safely. More details on this will also be issued in due course.

For all Meetings, Medals and Stablefords, entry will be done using the competition booking system rather than the new tee booking system.  Any member wishing a reminder on how to use this system please contact the office.

Spring Meeting – the entry system will be open from Friday 10 July.

Club Championship

Qualifying for the Club Championship will be part of the Spring Meeting on 1 August.  There will be no separate 36 Hole qualifying competition.

To allow increased participation it has been decided to have 16 qualifiers from the Spring Meeting – the top 16 Scratch scores – and play the match play over three days – Friday 7 August to Sunday 9 August:-

Friday 7 August –               1st Round                         5pm – 7pm

Saturday 8 August           Quarter Finals                    8am – 10am

                                                 Semi Finals                       1pm – 3.30pm

Sunday 9 August              Final (36 Holes)                 8am – 9.30am & 1.30pm – 2.30pm

More details on this will follow when the Spring Meeting booking sheet opens later this week.

All these events and timings are subject to change.

BUGGIES

Buggies are now available for use, and following the initial couple of days usage the guidelines have been updated as follows:-

  • Buggies are provided strictly for single use only.
  • Only one set of clubs should be carried on the buggy
  • Under no circumstances should any other player in the group touch the buggy or anything carried in the buggy.
  • Buggies must be booked in advance.
  • Buggies will be available for collection in front of the clubhouse and should be returned there after use.
  • Each buggy will only be used once per day
  • Buggies will be fully sanitised by staff before they are re-used in the following days

Currently push trolleys remain unavailable.

Members are asked to abide by these guidelines at all times.

 MEMBER CHARGES

Now that the outside drinks area is operational and hopefully the clubhouse will be re-opening next week, members are able to purchase items from the clubhouse.  Initially there will be no facility to take payment directly in the clubhouse.  All charges will be added to the member’s account and balances should be settled by the end of each month.  Balances are available for view on the website.

Payments can be made by

BACS transfer to the club’s account :-

Sort code – 83-26-02; Number 00168657

Debit or credit card – by calling the office during office hours.

Monthly reminders of balances will be sent out by email.

FINALLY

Thank you again for your cooperation during these difficult times.  We appreciate that it appears we are getting back to normal but it will not be completely normal for some time yet.

Hopefully the relaxations already in place will be extended further next week which will allow the Clubhouse to open.  If this does happen more rules and regulations will be required.  Members are asked to read all newsletters carefully and thoroughly and abide by the conditions detailed in the note.  There will also be increased signage around the clubhouse reminding members as to how they should behave.  Please abide by these signs at all times.  Staff may ask you to follow the instructions – please  listen and do what they say.

As I am sure you will appreciate we have a duty of care to all members, guests and staff to follow the guidelines and your continued co-operation would be appreciated.
